Denney Juvenile Justice Center Poetry Workshop

The Denney Juvenile Justice Center Poetry workshop is facilitated by Snohomish County Children's Writer, Mindy Hardwick. The workshop meets on a regular basis and includes both boys and girls units. In the poetry workshop, teens write about their lives and experiences. We read young adult novels and memoirs and incorporate this reading with our writing. The youth's poetry has been published in four chapbooks. Some of the funding for the workshops has been provided by the following: BECU School Grants, Greater Everett Community Foundation, Terry & Cheryle Earnheart Fund for Children, Tulalip Tribes, Everett Public Schools Foundation, and The Blanche Miller Art Exhibit Program.
